I've applied to do Civil Engineering(beng) in Cardiff, Swansea, Liverpool, John Moores and Glamorgan and I don't know where to go, any reccomendations. Don't think I'll get the grades to go to Cardiff.

My personal ranking would be

(excluding cardiff)
Liverpool
Swansea
Glamorgan
L John Mooes (I assumed you applied for Liverpool & John Moores by the way you worded it)

Liverpool to me is the best Uni out of the lot you have, with Cardiff obviously being on the table, if you feel confident you can get the grades. If your first choice ends up being a risky one, just make sure you keep a lower-requirement one as your insurance, incase!

Completely disagree. For Civil Engineering

Cardiff / Swansea
.
.
.
Liverpool
GLamorgan/John Moores.

I'm a first year Civil Engineering student at Swansea University.

The other guy is a film applicant still doing his A-levels.

As you can see there is no bias???

However, he is not far off. Swansea and Cardiff arepretty well regarded for Civils. Liverpool is not downright atrocious mind and isn't too far behind.

John Moores doesn't fill me with confidence. I don't really know how Glamorgan but I would struggle to consider it. Neither Glamorgan nor John Moores made it into the RAE 2008, which worries me.

Look at the places where they are. Do you think you will fit in. Will you enjoy it.

I do Civils. Done it for 3.5 years. Don't study at any of those unis

What about the actual place itself; I'm not one to go out drinking however I play lot of golf and football and love watching football at any level.

Interesting. Well depends what level you want to play at. You want good playing fields and I would check out whether they have intramural leagues if you do not want to play at university level.

Just a note of thanks to whoever pos repped me for post above
