Time was I would have worked my ass off to get decent relevent work experience and wouldn't have cared one bit about renumeration.

Christ I would have payed to be the office bitch at a consulting company pre-university.

Hi,

I am currently in Year 11 and need to fill my work experience weeks in July.

I'd like to go into the banking industry after preferably reading Economics at Oxford/LSE/UCL/Warwick but I am having a pretty tough time trying to find any work experience possibilities at any of the big investment banks for my age.

I was just wondering if it is even possible for a Year 11 student to get a work experience placement at any of the big banks, even just sitting in the back observing etc.

Has anyone else had any experience or luck trying to get experience at Year 11 to any of the big investment banks and maybe there is some simple explanation as to why Year 11 students aren't allowed access.
