Ask Absolutely Anything! (+FAQ)
Welcome to the University of Warwick forum: where prospective and current students can discuss anything about Warwick.

Re: Ask Absolutely Anything! (+FAQ)It depends on which courses you're swapping between, and the regulations in your department. Swapping to a 'harder' course as you're doing is in general more complicated. Also see the post above yours about making sure you retain your on-campus accommodation.(Original post by Tclare)
How easy is it to swap courses at Warwick and when is a good time to enquire about doing so?Swapping would increase my offer from AAA to A*AA, which would add further pressure to my upcoming A2s. Is better to wait until I get there? -
Re: Ask Absolutely Anything! (+FAQ)I don't think it is possible (at least it is more difficult) to swap courses if you didn't meet the grades at A level. For example, say you get into Warwick with grades AAA, I don't think you can swap to a course which requires A*AA.(Original post by Tclare)

Re: Ask Absolutely Anything! (+FAQ)
I'm predicted 3A*s and an A, so hopefully (*crosses fingers*) meeting the grades shouldn't be a problem. I've currently got a place studying Law, but want to swap to PPE. I know that PPE is an extremely popular course, but was going to wait until I had arrived at Warwick to enquire about swapping. Would this decrease the likelihood of me being able to swap even further?

Re: Ask Absolutely Anything! (+FAQ)Whilst I've not tried swapping courses myself, whatever you do they won't withdraw your offer entirely so by enquiring now you've got nothing to lose and everything to gain. If they say no, email them after results day once they know the number of people on each course and they may change their mind.(Original post by Tclare)

Also, the earlier you enquire about changing, the more determined you seem to swap so (I can only assume) the more likely you are to have you request accepted.Last edited by electriic_ink; 23-05-2011 at 15:49. -
Re: Ask Absolutely Anything! (+FAQ)I usually order from here(Original post by electriic_ink)
Anyone know any good Chinese takeaways that deliver to campus? -
Re: Ask Absolutely Anything! (+FAQ)When doesn't it win(Original post by electriic_ink)
Cheers. This is an excellent website but unfortunately Dominoes won (again). Bookmarked.
Saying that...I ordered some excellent kebabs today
They stuck a flyerr under my door so we thought we would try it out.

Re: Ask Absolutely Anything! (+FAQ)
Any other unfortunate souls have a house inspection this week? The traditional bi-annual house cleaning was a lot of fun. Our house is one of the very few Warwick properties that has still not been taken on the accommodation website. The inspector was suspicious that people didn't want it because we had wrecked it.
No, the house itself is nice, just our neighbours are ****ing psychotic and I haven't had an uninterrupted nights sleep for three months. That's probably why it's untaken! -
Re: Ask Absolutely Anything! (+FAQ)Except I'll be in student halls in Tokyo, and not sharing paper thin walls with the world's loudest baby screaming and crying throughout the night.(Original post by Focus08)

Re: Ask Absolutely Anything! (+FAQ)Ours was a couple of weeks ago, which we passed. Just had a look on the website, it seems it's still up there. The house itself is pretty good quality but the location is awful.(Original post by screenager2004)

Re: Ask Absolutely Anything! (+FAQ)Have a look on the student's union forum http://www.warwicksu.com/forums/topiclist/630/(Original post by GodspeedGehenna)
Does Warwick uni have an ads page for people looking for housemates? There is only so much on rightmove/primelocation. -
Re: Ask Absolutely Anything! (+FAQ)Ah, brilliant. Just what I'm looking for. Cheers.(Original post by ttoby)

Re: Ask Absolutely Anything! (+FAQ)It is possible to take an unusual option in any year, although I personally haven't taken any language module. This page will give you information about the Language Centre and click on French to see the course structure of each level of module(Original post by kovostan)
Hello. I have an unconditional offer for MMORSE. I would like to take some extra modules. Has anybody here chosen an Unusual Option during their first year ? Eg : a language module, like French ? How did you find it ?
