United Green Front

Monaco sees an opportunity for global cooperation on ecology and conservation, while strenuously avoiding using the apparently dirty words "climate change" if at all possible. We warmly invite any country with an interest in planetary caretaking to join the United Green Front.

As an almost entirely coastal nation, Monaco must admit to a tiny bit of self-interest in keeping sea levels right where they are thank you, but on a global scale we are keen for it to be recognised that this is everybody's business.

Countries joining the front must be committed to action, not merely empty gestures. We would uphold (without seeking to pressure them into joining) the example of Spain, where we believe new buildings are legally required to incorporate solar power.
The Tuvalu Islands would like to express approval of your aims.

Tuvalu has once again been re-elected as the Representative of the Alliance of Small Islands States (AOSIS) to the Bureau of the United Nations Conference on Climate Change. In elections held at the Ninth Session of the Conference of the Parties (COP9) to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change, currently underway in Milan, Italy, the name of Tuvalu was unanimously re-endorsed by all small islands States for another term as their representative in the Bureau.
