It would depend what sort of English course and where. You'll probably need to go down the named route which would involve doing at least half your degree in English but different courses and institutions will vary. It's never too early to have a look at the sort of postgraduate courses you might be interested in and at then you can prepare, if you need to.

I got my A levels last year and applied for university in september. Until now i've been dead set on Combined Hons and now i've suddenly realised that it might be limiting my postgrad options- which i'm worried about!

I wouldn't have thought it would. You're still taking a significant amount of English modules. Besides, it's still possible to progress onto English at postgrad without an English undergrad degree anyway.
