Equine leucocyte count, reference range

I did a lab practical a few weeks ago, using an Improved Neubauer haemocytometer to perform a leucocyte count on a couple of samples of horse blood.

Working on the lab report, I need to compare to the established reference range. Unfortunately, the few values I've been able to find online are a) all differing to eachother slightly and b) way off my count :p:

I was wondering if anyone had a textbook or something and could definitively confirm it for me please? Thank you

EDIT: Just to clarify, I don't need a differential count or anything, just a total WBC count. Thanks!

Hello,
Try the Merck Veterinary Manual (it's online). look under the reference section at the end. It's very a comprehensive resource.
Here's a link to the index http://www.merckvetmanual.com/
Alternatively, The Manual of Equine Practice (written by Rose and Hodgson) has a section on clinical pathology which I'm pretty sure has reference ranges in it.
Reference ranges vary between labs so it's worth bering this in mind.
Hope this helps x

Thank you so very much

I also realized why my count was so very very far off, I'd messed up the calculations with a very silly mistake >< Sorted now!
