Siberia feels the heat!

There's a very good article on the front page of the Guardian today.

Avast expanse of western Siberia is apparently undergoing an unprecedented thaw ... 1 million sq Kms of permafrost (size of France and Germany combined) have started to melt for the first time since it formed 11,000 years ago at the end of the last Ice Age. The methane that could be released might be one of these 'tipping points' ie delicate thresholds where a tiny change in temperature can cause a dramatic effect.

probably - it was their front page on the paper editions and they usually have a corresponding article online
Thats intresting article, slightly worrying one though. If more of these feedbacks start to occur we are in deep doop.
