Re: TSR Physics Society
Surerly we can build a mighty lifter ( http://snipurl.com/s72v ) to fly on, or control the world weather patterns, or re-do some of Tesla's crazy demonstrations or something.....

Re: TSR Physics Society
Hello there! May I join? I'm doing Physics Standard Level for IB, 'cause my school doesn't offer Higher Level... and I did my IB Extended Essay on the Theory of Relativity, though I couldn't get much into General Rel. because of the difficulty of its mathematical model (The Essay was basically a model of interstellar travel according to the theory... quite cliché, if you think of it). Anyway, I just love Physics, and I'd really like to learn more, specially Theoretical Physics...
See ya! -
Re: TSR Physics SocietyI don't know why... I hated Chemistry, never did any work, didn't understand it, and never took any notes because I was too shortsighted to see the blackboard. I got an A, but to this day, I've no idea how(Original post by yo-less)
*hops*
Physics is awesome (at my level atleast
) but I find a distinct lack of people who appreciate it ^o) Most people prefer Chemistry

I do not get Chemistry for some reason :>.<: I haven't done my GCSEs yet but last two terms I managed to get an A - once again like you, and I have no clue how
- but I'm still quite confused about it
. I suspect it's because our teacher is teaching us the syllabus very poorly
Too short sighted to see the blackboard?

Re: TSR Physics SocietyYes, I wear glasses now. My eyesight's not as bad as that makes it sound, but the teacher made me sit at the back, and I was too shy to admit I needed to sit several rows further forward. The room was about 6 or 7 benches deep (imagine proper, old lab benches - the room looked like it hadn't been refitted since they built that part of the school!), and we sat four to a bench, one pair at either end.(Original post by yo-less)

I don't know, I probably will need Chemistry because I want to do something in the field of marine biology... Maybe, hmm.(Original post by Princess Ana)
I have to say, chemistry's pretty useless if you don't want to do anything in that line of study - noone's ever asked me to do a titration since
However, you can probably imagine my horror last semester when I had to do a module of... chemistry!
What is your line of study? -
Re: TSR Physics SocietyI think I was in denial about needing them(Original post by yo-less)
So why didn't you just get glasses then?

And I'd grown up with my eyesight, so thought it was normal - noone ever bothered to tell me it wasn't
Physics, as per my signature and this thread(Original post by yo-less)

Re: TSR Physics Society
I have to say, I can only conclude that my optician (who I'd seen regularly) was an idiot, because he failed to notice that I have astigmatism and extreme myopia in my left eye (that means I'm short-sighted and can't focus anyway - plus, everything looks elongated), and very mild myopia in my right eye (short-sightedness, which to be fair, probably only developed fairly recently).
We're nearly ready to take over the world
