Re: 2011 Medicine Re-Applicants!Yeah I totally agree with you and Black Knight it seems such a waste of time and money! In fact I'm not all that interested in doing the biomed course! Thanksomuchhh! It always helps when you have another person's perspective!(Original post by blonde-beth)
i would say no point whatsoever, being as you would drop out of it anyway! in my opinion we should use the year to have fun, get money and get some really good medical expirience (oh, and get into medical school for 2011!) byt then again thats just my opinion, as i feel i have a very good chance of getting in next year as i missed it by the skin of my teeth this year!

Re: 2011 Medicine Re-Applicants!No you won't! We're going to have a 100% record!!!!!!!!!!!(Original post by Yellowmonkeyman)
I know I'm still waiting for two uni responses but If I don't get any offers which I think is likely then I'll be in the same situation as you. There are approx 10 med applicants in my year and I will be the only one to not get in

Re: 2011 Medicine Applicants: Gappers and Re-applicants...YES mate!(Original post by a moist feeling)
I am joining this excellent club of re-applicants in 2011 (grades permitting of course). My problem was a lack of work experience as I decided on medicine quite late and my personal statement wasn't really up to scratch. Lets hope we all get in for 2011 as we all know this is going to be the best medics year

Re: 2011 Medicine Re-Applicants!
I've got 479/600 in chem and its a B, just a mark away from an A..

I can't resit this paper 'cause my school followed the legacy specification (the old one). Even after remarking my grade hasn't changed. WHAT.DO.I.DO?
:[
I've got an A in bio and I'm predicted A in Math. So with an A in chem I can apply comfortably with 3As. Also since I follow the old spec which has no provision for A* unlike the new spec, THO my total in bio is 91% roughly, i still get an A. WHAT.TO.DO?

Re: 2011 Medicine Re-Applicants!For chem you can try by sending it for recorrection(Original post by urji210)

For bio do you have 90+ for A2? -
Re: 2011 Medicine Re-Applicants!I mean how much did you get for A2 alone?(Original post by urji21)
I did send in my chem papers for remarking and my grade hasn't changed..:[
Also, yes I got 541/600..which is what 90.2%?
then thats bad luck if it hasn't changed since some unis ask A in chem, o what are you planning to do? -
Re: 2011 Medicine Re-Applicants!Noble(Original post by Noble.)
The new A* is only awarded if you have 270/300 UMS with your A2 modules.
I ask everyone about my chances of cambridge in the hope that when I apply I will take the correct decision, I dnt want to be rejected by all 4 of my unis!!!
I do know that none knows for sure, but I'll gain something from each and every answer! -

awww this sucks, I am so sorry for you! Can you not resit one of the chem papers in june? i thought they still did resits this year... and june is the last setting for it. If your school doesn't allow it, try doing it as an external student somewhere else. You'll have to pay massive amounts, but if it gets you closer to medicine, its worth it.
Good luck -
Re: 2011 Medicine Re-Applicants!Nope, I can't resit any of the papers 'cause the last exam session for the legacy specification was JAN '10. I've got As in all units except unit 3 for which I got a silly C and hence my grade dropped to a B :[(Original post by futuredoc77)

Re: 2011 Medicine Re-Applicants!this is very sad, what are you gonna do then?(Original post by urji21)

urgh, this is why i hate the fact that uni's look at your grade rather than the score.
I wish you good luck with whatever you decide to do!
