OK, that's cool to hear . Do you practice this without using clutch, or do you use the clutch? I presume that the car shouldn't move if the handbrake is on, so it should be OK, right? I just want to make sure I can get the hang of everything, that's all :o:
Yeah I use the clutch, I don't put the key in the ignition thing so everythings off. I've only had 13 hours and I just wanna pass so I can drive to uni!

Just had my first lesson in 2 weeks as my driving instructor was on holiday. Didn't go too badly considering that. Must have been my 18th lesson by now!

    Well done!

Had a lesson at 5pm today. There's no moretest routes to cover, so we did show me tell me, a few manouvers and emergency stops again as well as some general driving. I hate bay parking- I don't think I've ever done a perfect one. The rest of the manouvers I do very well with, it's so infuriating!

16 days til my test. :s

Received my provisional today, about to book a bunch of lessons, hoping to have first one next week (I have an annoying cold atm and won't be any good to sneeze every 5 mins lol..), also hoping to go to bsm this weekend at some point to have a go at their simulator

Roughly how long should I wait before booking my theory test?

Edit: Booked a bunch of lessons, first scheduled for the 18th

In my driving lesson today I had 4 brand new aston martins behind me, they were cramping my style in the focus!

And then it looked silly because one overtook me so I had broken up the pack

Just done my first reverse around a corner. It went pretty well although he near terrified me with the 'talk through' first. It wasn't so bad once we actually did it.
hahaha..that reminded me of my first RRC, Was nervous coz of too many steps but once its done, it totally went well.

Honestly my least fave is the turn in the road coz I'm not quick on steering. But now Im perfecting all maneuvers apart from bay parking which I haven't done at all.

Btw, I had my 12th lesson (24 hours) today. Been doing general driving and this is the first and only lesson where I didn't stall:woo: . I tend to stall at least once. I'm really enjoying driving now.:yep:

Haha! I'm still hoping for a Lambo to drive behind me. That would be awesome. With the speed I drive at and the speed the lambo can go, I really want this to happen!

Eep, test in under a month! I've had about 22 hour-long lessons and things are coming together quite nicely, except I still can't effing reverse around a corner properly! If I get that manoeuvre, I swear to god -_-

Ugh, just spent an entire lesson trying to bay park properly. Almost every other aspect of my driving is perfect, it's just that! If it comes up on my test I may cry.

I don't mind reversing round a corner really. It's just a case of learning to juggle everything.

    Two weeks til my test

    Thanks =)

Tips...don't worry about it. Any driving you do will *probably* be on quiet roads and your instructor will have full control of the car to stop anything disasterous happening! You may spend a lot of time at the beginning chatting through the basics...controls etc and you'll be told exactly what to do and when, including when to change gears, when to brake, when to turn etc. If you're taken on the main roads (like I know some instructors do) just be aware of what's happening around you, although the instructor will also be looking around carefully and should be able to stop anything bad happening.

Also, don't worry if you struggle with it...I did to start with and my first instructor wasn't particularly sympathetic. You WILL get there eventually, believe me...2 years and 5 tests later I got there when there were MANY times along the way when I didn't think I would and considered giving up. Just keep calm, be aware, and you'll be fine . Good luck!
