Sutton coldfield grammar school for girls interview help needed!!!Ok so basically I received a letter from the grammar school today inviting me for an interview for sixth form entrance. The letter said that i'll be given a tour of the school and will be given the opportunity to meet current students. After that I will be interviewed and will have to complete a short written exercise. Omg the short written exercise is really freaking me out because I really don't know what to expect, if anyone can give me advice on the interview and the written activity then I would be very very appreciative i.e. how long is it? what topics would they ask? etc.
I also have to bring a record of my achievements so shall I take a ring binder or a thin folder that's easier to handle. The letter also specifically asked me to bring my mock GCSE results...the thing is that my school didn't do mock exams because we had real exams in november for maths and english etc. Should I just bring all my GCSE achievements from year 10 because I took about 6 or 7 GCSEs early although I am retaking one or two again because i'd like a better result and also because my bog standard comprehensive ****** up my english language GCSE by sending the wrong coursework. I now have to retake it when I would have had an A* if they'd done the simple task of sending the correct coursework off.
Ok enough ranting, please offer advice especially if you are a student who undertook the interview and now attend the sixth form. Oh and one more thing, on the letter they said that competition for places are fierce so I should come prepared. It's inevitable that I will prepare but does the fact that they detailed this signify that they're going to interrogate me, to some extent. -

how did your interview go even though it was like 2 years ago, what was the written task like and what topics were covered?? any help would be greatly appreciated.
A tad late, yes. Erm, it was fine...the written task was basically just a load of generic questions i.e. why do you want to come here?, what can you offer us?

Where else have you applied? I have some experience of King Edward VI Handsworth too. -

In a nutshell, I hated it, hated the teachers, students and the fact that they couldn't care less about the student; as long as they got the coveted A*s to push their status further up in the, oh so, flawed league table system.(Original post by cmab52)

But, frankly, I couldn't stand the school. I wouldn't advise it, the teaching is nothing special, my former bog standard comprehensive had better teachers. The reason the students do so well is because the fear of failure is constantly drilled into them. -
