oxford acceptances

Hey

I've noticed that a few people in random threads have mentioned that in the past people who have oxbridge offers have been able to ring up their college on the wednesday to find out if they've made the grade, i can also vaguley remember someone from school mentioning it to me, just wondered if there was any truth in it and whether it would be allowed this year?

If they tell you, UCAS are liable to not release the A-level results to them until the Thursday in coming years.
Don't do it.

Much as I suspected! But hey it was worth a try, looks like its thursday then ugh! Thanks for the luck I'll need it.

it's an unfair and pointless system, if true. if you've missed your offer, they normally don't let you know whether they'll still take you until a couple of days after the results officially come out (unless you have completely missed your offer by more than one grade etc) if you've got in, then you're in, you might as well just wait till thursday like everyone else.
