Yeah, there's genuinely no point bringing a car. The traffic is awful and there's nowhere to park. You can get to uni really quickly on a bike - a couple of guys I know do it and they make it in 10 mins or so.
    And yes it's snowing!
We've been making an igloo today - a walrus igloo!
Until I read the title of 'walrus' I thought this was a sculpture of someone wearing jeans bent over... errmm...

SO looking forward to uploading pictures of my room
I'm going to Canterbury, and my first choice for accomodation is an all new building, so it's nice to know I'll be a help to some people. Downside is, nobody has pictures of it yet so I'm not sure what to expect!

That's Bath, Marlborough and Solsbury Courts. If you like that, have a look at Woodland Court! :coma:
The bedroom at the bottom looks like a hotel room... :coma:

Didn't want to quote an old post but that's what I thought too - it's cosy and bright but I'd hate to stay in what seemed like a hotel room haha.

I did have a search of the thread but does anyone have a 'lived in' picture of Victoria Halls? (preferably in Leicester). They do have a virtual tour but I'd like to see if possible what it looks like when it's being lived in

My room in first year at Manchester (Whitworth) was a bit prison-like in terms of decoration, but it had a mahoosive desk that I really, really miss!

any reason why your room looks SO big compared to other Whitworth rooms i've seen :O

I had a slanted roof, meaning I got an extra few square centimeters instead of having a straight wall :p: (That and the fact that I hadn't started to hoard stuff, at the time…)

Has anyone took a sofa in their room? My room is big enough to fit (squeeeze perhaps) a little sofa in, like a metal frame thing that I got for £20, but I'm worried I'll look completely over the top moving in with a sofa. My halls don't have a communal living area or anything, so I liked the idea of having a sofa and telly in my room..

A sofa seems excessive, though it depends on the room, my second year room was incredibly massive and we put a drum kit in my room due to the space

Do it. People probably won't think less of you (unless you end up living with really insecure weird people) and you'll probably actually end up having friends over for films a fair bit if you have loads of seating space in your room. My experience dictates that this 'honour' is always bestowed upon the one with the most comfortable room or failing that the one with the biggest DVD collection.
