I believe since the laptop is a mac and the desktop looks like Mac OSX then it's just the monitor is connected to the laptop and not a computer. Though I could be wrong.

nah i just have my laptop plugged into a screen as i find it hard to work on such a small screen.

and the thing in the first picture is just my huge speakers /dvd player hooked up to another screen. as if i have a load of people over its easier to get everyone in if we watch movies etc on that
