    Whoo Cambridge!!

I was reading an article about the oxbridge twins. They are almost too perfect!! But they aren't (in my opinion) THAT great looking, bit old for me lol

Well done Cambridge!! I love to watch the winning team's elation but I hate to watch the dejection from the losing team; I can't imagine what it's like to actually experience the two different outcomes!!!

Oxford. Because they have actual twins on their team.

IMHO another university should beat them both . . .

I know it's traditional and all, but surely it would be more fun if other unis got in on it?

A competition where you have a 50% chance of winning is a pretty poor competition.
There is. It's called the Head of the River Race. It was last Saturday.

Just because it's not televised doesn't mean other races don't happen

This is the Oxford-Cambridge Boat Race, it has a huge amount of tradition behind it and to say that we should let other universities join in is the stupidest comment I've ever heard.

There are similar University races in almost every other city - in Newcastle we have the Newcastle Uni Vs Durham Uni Boat Race. There are plenty of others around the country, you wouldn't suddenly say "Oh let someone else join in", there are other races for that.

Anyway, glad Cambridge won, the girlfriend of the Cambridge stroke man coxes me

Fine, whatever. I'm sorry that my knowledge of an obscure sport for public schools isn't up to par.

Glad Cambs won. Good to see two ex-Newcastle rowers in the blue boat.

    They also won me £18

Congrats to Goldie as well, they never get enough attention.

I'm just going to ask so no hard feelings. But if you don't know about it, why comment on it?

    Indeed.

I went to a state school in Newcastle, whilst rowing is one of the sports that Great Britain excels at at the Olympics. There are hundreds of rowing clubs around the country where people aged 10 to 80+ from all sorts of different backgrounds take part.

If you don't know stuff about the sport, don't try to make stupid comments about it. It's a fantastic sport which is incredibly popular, open to all sorts of people. It's not at all an "obscure sport for public schools"
