Both very respectable. How confident are you at getting AAA. What do you think of the areas and the uni's; if you have to spend 3 years of your life in a specific area its key you know which one suits you best by visiting it.

What are your career aspirations? A language will always improve your employability but make sure you wont be loosing to much of what makes the economics degree useful.

Both are good, but would pick Birmingham personally.
You're a bloke, so go to Brum.

We'll i don't think prestige comes in it here at all. With economics at Exeter i know you can choose language modules, have a friend whose doing some over both semesters this year. I would go with whichever you prefer, i presume you've visited both, since there's not a whole lot of difference between them.
