Actually the majority of my friends are Black. I didn't get along with the other Asian girls in my school...

I hang around with mainly white people as I grew up in a very white area so haven't really had the chance to meet other Chinese people, British born that is. I'd really like to since it'd be nice to have people you share things in common with which would be seen as quite unusual by Western standards but it's hard since I can't speak Mandarin at all and my Cantonese is very limited.

It sounds really rude but every time I've tried talking to other Chinese people whether they're BBC's or not, a lot of them (mainly the guys) really really don't like me. I always get packs of guys staring at me in the street as if I'm doing something horribly wrong. I find you also spend a lot of energy to get to know them only to find you get one word answers in response.

I was born in Britain but have moved to China and back quite a few times (so a TCK), so I have friends in both countries. Oh yeah and I'm BBC.

In Britain I tend to hang out with white people more, there really aren't many chinese people in the area I live in or the school I go to.

But in China, I tend to hang out with others like me that are BBCs or ABCs, CBCs...etc as i went to an international school there. I find it much easier to connect with them then friends in UK because of similar experiences i guess.

At my school, all the Chinese used to eat together on this big long wooden table. About 20 of them I'd say.

They were known as the triads lol.

Not necessarily so. Probably more associated with upbringing. My mate is Hong Kong bbc and very popular with all nationalities. Whereas my Chinese gf has the problems with culture differences in terms of persona with other nationalities. She's has the softer, gentle side and has a hard time with cattiness amongst peers and finds other nationalities to be less kind or hospitable unfortunately.

British born, though I have a German dad.

Growing up, most of my friends were either Swiss because I was living in Switzerland, American because I went to various American high schools. The years I spent in Britain, mostly hung out with foreigners from EU countries or Americans who were mostly white.

Not close to any BBCs or ABCs other than my own cousins or relatives.
