Re: TSR Question Time - Put your question to the party leaders
With the richest 1% owning 21% of overall wealth, and the bottom 50% owning just 7%,what steps will you take to tackle the unequal distribution of wealth within the country?

Re: TSR Question Time - Put your question to the party leaders
In what ways are your party looking to revamp the current education system in the UK and how are you actively seeking to improve the career prospects for graduates, both those with degrees and masters?
What problems do you see with the current immigration system in place and how will your party address these issues? -
Re: TSR Question Time - Put your question to the party leaders
In the likely event that will be no political party that has an outright majority of seats, and therefore a Hung Parliament, which party or parties would you form a coalition government with and why?
CJ, please feel free to edit the wording of my question if necessary.(Original post by CJ)

Thank you.

Re: TSR Question Time - Put your question to the party leadersGreat question Ilex and quite similar to one I asked in the People's PMQs the other day though it didn't get picked up.(Original post by IlexAquifolium)
Are there any plans to review the system of postgraduate funding? Research councils are becoming ever more competitive (and their future funding allocations look uncertain), CDLs have become more inaccessible due to the credit crunch, the ELQ changes have made second undergraduate degrees impossible for most, and graduates are increasingly unable to find jobs in order to finance further study.
What proposals would you have to make the system more equitable and accessible for all who want to pursue further study? How would you ensure that the brightest are encouraged to stay in research and academia?
I want to rewrite it slightly to reflect something which I feel is more important than simply making it more accessible to all.
Given the increasing pressure on Researching Council Funding for Postgraduate study and the increasing homogenisation of academia as a middle class profession for the middle class, what steps will you party take to ensure that more funding is targetted towards working-class students who wish to pursue postgraduate and doctoral studies, particularly in the arts and humanities and social sciences?
My second question would be: Given that all the main political parties are targetting middle class voters and are aiming to create a middle-class Britain, is it not time that British politics awoke to the fact that there is a working class that feels ignored and neglected and that this neglect leads directly to protest votes for parties such as the BNP. In otherwords, will the parties accept that the middle-class consensus is dangerous and finally do something to make politics more inclusive of all social classes? -
Re: TSR Question Time - Put your question to the party leaders
With fossil fuels either running out or causing climate change and people from all sides of political spectrun opposing the building of renewal energy such as wind farms when it happens in 'their own back yard', what would you say is the answer to ensure we have sufficent power generation which does not damage the environment? Is more nuclear power the answer?
What is your opinion on the fact that Scottish and Welsh MP can vote on matters which only affect England? Was the elected regional assembly plan not the answer to address this? If not, what can be done to address it? -

Why does Britain need a nuclear deterrent such as Trident in the 21st century? Even if we get into a nuclear war, what will the limited number of warheads we have contribute except for getting our own country destroyed and ending/ruining the lives of millions of others?

What will you do about the unfair apartheid between english and scottish students where scottish students are able to attend university free of charge whereas their english counterparts have to pay £3000 per year?
And English will have to pay alot more, starting next year. -

Re: TSR Question Time - Put your question to the party leadersHow would you balance the desire to increase attendance/broaden opportunity for attendance at university, with the need not to dilute the 'worth' of a degree?

1)
Every major party had MPs involved in the expenses scandal. It seems very few were investigated fully and that little action has been taken since against anyone or to change the rules adequately. Why should the public trust your party above others?
2)
Social housing and/or affordable housing has come under heavy demand however very little is being built and if it is it is poor quality blocks of flats, what are your parties plans for the future in this area? -
Re: TSR Question Time - Put your question to the party leaders
The current proliferation in industrial action, particularly within the transport and services sector threatens to deal a crippling blow to hopes of renewed economic growth. How will your party seek to mitigate these harmful disputes going forward?

That is truly amazing. Just shows socialism is worst for the poorest. -
Re: TSR Question Time - Put your question to the party leaders
With regards to cutting higher education budgets, there are courses at some universities that have an appalling track record concerning graduate employment. Why has no party proposed to cut funding to these wasteful courses rather than, for example, raising tuition fees or cutting funding to world class universities?
