    En Suite or Shared Bathrooms?
Just wondering. En suite rooms seem to be around 40 quid a week more than the basic rooms- is it worth it, or better to keep an extra 40 a week?

Edit: Guys, I started this thread nearly two years ago. I've been at uni since September 2010, only used shared bathrooms, and really not found it an issue at all. Anyway, point being, there's no need to specifically answer the question to me (via quote or otherwise) as it really is no longer relevant

If you're anything like me you'd want the ensuite. I couldn't bare sharing a bathroom with people I don't know - imagine them leaving un-identified hairs and all sorts  I just couldn't do it. I'd rather pay the extra!

    Shared bathrooms are comedy gold.

At first, I was gutted I didn't get en-suite. Looking back now, I'm don't know why I was so fussed to be honest! It would have been a waste of money imo.

Come on, you're student going to university, not some sorts of luxury vacation, get a normal room and you will have 40 quids to spend on a lot of things. Unless you have an illness or something, I don't see the reasons why we need an en-suite.

they are a good way to waste money, your going to live in the shower or loo, shared loo's and showers get cleared, i dunno why people worry so much about that

think about it do you want that £40 extra a week or not

when you move into a house your going to have to share

This is what i'm wondering...it means £40 extra for going out etc...

Are sharing toilets/showers really that bad? If you find something disgusting, you can just go to a different toilet/shower right?

Still can't decide what I want though, more money, or more luxury (but less money...)
    GAH!

    Likewise.

Plus, it is a way to 'meet people' - on the way to the toilet. You're not holed up in your room all the time. I often end up having 10/20 minute conversations on my way to/from the bathroom/kitchen.

Whatever you feel most comfortable with. If you could do with that £40 though, might want to bite the bullet and cope for a year.

I have an ensuite, but it was nowhere near that much of a difference in price between that and the shared. If I had that sort of a choice, I'd much rather have the extra £40.

I was already set on ensuite but after hearing a few stories about sharing a bathroom with people on here... :erm: I'm dead set on ensuite.

Yeah, same here too! I'm catered as well and it's really good for socialising. I always end up staying in the dinner hall for about an hour!
