    Xbox 360 or PSP?
I'm having difficulty choosing which I will buy (probably both in time) first - either the PSP for my birthday on September the 19th, or the Xbox for my Christmas instead. What would you prefer? They both have obvious pros, and unfortunately, not that many cons.

I had the same problem but now have decided that a X360 will be my 1st purchase providing the early games are of high standard like the 1st xbox. My DS will keep me happy till the PSP is under £100.

I checked Lik-Sang - you'd be as well buying it in Britain, with the value pack you're only saving £20 and there's that nasty chance customs will notice it and charge tax, making it cost more. Playasia do not import it to EU countries.

There is no competition at all! The Xbox 360 is value for money in every sense.

I'm just going to get the core pack + a memory card (confirmed to be £23). That will come to £233, enough to get a couple of games (I'm thinking Ridge Racer 6 + Perfect Dark Zero). Bigger hard disks will come out next year, so I'm not bothered about having one first time around. And besides the memory cards are 64mb, which is enough to store a few tracks of music anyway in the meantime.

I think the £210 pack is crap, but I feel that £280 is far too much to pay when all I really care about is the hard disk. Also, that means nothing for my birthday.

You can't seem to get a PSP by itself in Britain. I think the value pack is a total pile of sh*te.

One of the most desirable reasons for buying a PSP is that I could cram some Blackadder, Fawlty Towers, Family Guy and South Park onto a memory card and watch them on the train in the mornings and afternoon.

The PSP on it's own is £122 from play asia + postage

Or just get this little gadget for your GBA that let's you play films on it as well (and use the rest of the cash on a X360 )

As I said before, Playasia is out of the question.

am facing the same dilema, but i dont think i can wait till november or december for the xbox. Getting a psp now could help shorten the wait for the 360, during you would save up/get a job and get more money to save for the xbox.

Sony are being tight arsed about people getting the console before the set European launch date, after it's set launch you'll be able to get a cheap one from play-asia no problem - sorry for not making this more clear.

I would rather get the XBOX360 simply because at the moment there arent many games that interest me on the PSP. Once the PSP gets good games, and probably become a bit cheaper, ill get it

    I'd rather get an Xbox360

But i'd rather not get either

The PSP is ott for a handheld, and the Xbox360 is an overpriced piece of overhyped technology with a lack of promising original games

The Xbox 360 is a much wiser choice in the short and long term.

The same could have been said for the PS2 and can most definitely be said for the PS3. What's your point?

Without a shadow of a doubt - xbox 360. Represents much better value for money, and support for the PSP is tiny. There arent many good games, and most owners of it just use it for othr multimedia purposes or it just lies there. it is speculated that games will dry up even more in the future since the cost of development is high for a portable, plus with the new generation of consoles coming out, developers will have to drop less profitable projects,

    so xbox 360 definatly

Gran Turismo 4, Lemmings, and Blackadder on the train are the main reasons I want a PSP. I travel for an hour and a half every day. Plus, it's coming out in time for my birthday.

After careful consideration I've decided to go for the 360. Thanks for the feedback.
