SAT Math reasoning test help :(

Hey guys,

I am hoping to apply to the US, thus I would need to sit the SAT. I have taken a practice SAT exam and I got 780 for reading, 790 for writing, but only 430 for math. My math is exceptionally poor and I do not even know the basic concepts :frown: Would someone be willing to assist me by explaining what is contained in the math section of the SAT, and how best to prepare for it. Also if someone could recommend a good book I could buy to allow me to teach myself the math needed for the test, I would be very greatful. Thanks.

The SAT math is really easy, you just need to know the topics and try a few questions. Have a look at these links to get an idea of the content. As for the book, get the blue Collegeboard book "The Official SAT Study Guide" if you haven't already. Its really cheap if you get it second hand online

Is it just me or is it super wierd that you got such high scores on CR/W where as you get a ridiculously low score on Maths when normally people ace the Maths Section and do worse on the CR/W sections. What year are you currently in?

Well as I said before, my math is poor. But I excel in subjects which require reading and writing. I'm in year 12 currently.
