German oral! eek..

Hey basically i have my gcse german oral nest wednesday and am scared ********.
Im doing edexcel and am really worried about it because i always do really badly in orals...but am aiming for an A* overall in german.

I revise and then freeze when i get to the exam and forget everything.
Can anyone who has done/is doing german orals give me some advice/tips please!
Also i need some useful good german phrases which will impress her...
anything useful you can think of that would be handy?

Thank you so much!
thread title misleading...

Negged for making me think this was a thread about German chicks giving dome.
I did German and French GCSE last year and I was exactly the same as you. I really thought I was going to let nerves get to me, especially at the start. However as the exam passed, I found that it wasn't so bad, and I was so busy concentrating on what to say I actually forgot about nerves. The most important thing to remember is that even if you make a mistake, don't panic and start to make more mistakes. It's GCSE German, they don't expect you to be fluent and making mistakes is perfectly acceptable. I was quite bad in Oral practise but I came out with an A in German and an A* in French, as long as you revise well and concentrate, you should be fine!
Viel Glück!

Just watched something similar to this on pornhub. Very naice
Im in the exact same position as you I know how you feel.

What im doing is going through the 200 ish questions and answers to cover any possibility in the general conversation.

You can start now and easily get through them all 2 times over if you work at it.

Even if you dont, I know people who got A/A* with minimal revision but sticking to what they know.

Go over the basic grammer and make sure you get that correct because thats what can be trajick.

soz fo da mess
I went through this with my german oral a couple of years ago. If you practise with a parent it helps. So after you've learnt a few sample answers, get a parent to test you. Then take a break and repeat!

What I would recommend is that talk to other people/student who speak German at most of the time. Try to learn some hard vocabulary.

I agree with practicing on a parent. Always helps!
Just let the hands do the talking. :joyman:

I did my German oral exam on my 16th birthday - I was not happy. But my teacher was lovely  I can't remember which board we were with, but we had to do a presentation, revise it all, and say it out to the teacher. She had a copy of it. She let us look at it when we were stuck, although she wasn't suppose to. Luck was also on my side that day. I had revised 3 out of 6 topics, and semi-revised another one, and I was asked two that I knew and one the one that I half knew. I was so glad  and I got a B overall

Anyways, I can only think of the usual stuff really, take a deep breath before you go in, and try not to think of it too much. Take time answering your questions, and say them loud and clearly.
I got my mum and nan to help me by asking me the question and I answered - they couldn't speak German though, so it took me a bit longer, as I didn't know what they were asking me lol. I also practised in the park with my mate (who also did German).
I also found it easier to focus on one thing in the room - like a picture or the window. I hated look at the teacher, and found it helped me concentrate more.

Good luck
