Biomedical engineering Birmingham vs Newcastle

Hi

I have offers for mechanical engineering at these two universities. Which do you think is better?

What I like about Birmingham is that they are one of the few universities offering BSc in biomed engineering which is my main area of interest. The first two years are mainly mechanical ,however you get the chance to choose biomed modules in your third year and you can specialise even further in the fourth. On the other hand, Newcastle is more famous with its mechanical (automotive) courses and they don't do that much research in biomed and you have less opportunities regarding final year projects in this area.
What seems attractive about Newcastle is that it is generally in top 10 for eng while birm is placed 20th on the times. However,Birm has a better research quality which is the most important factor in my view and is top 10 in the Russel group.
In addition, I like more Birm's campus and location.
So, I'll probably choose Birmingham but I would like to hear from someone studying this course as well as what do you think in general about the university?

Newcastle's best in Chemical Engineering just to correct you.
If you like your night life, go to newcastle.

I don't know about Newcastle but the nightlife in Birmingham is very good. It has everything you need.
