Alright you indie/alternative perfectionsts, can someone suggest me some more bands? I love Brett Dennen and Matt Costa, their calm style of music - especially with a guitar - is my absolut favorite in the genre. But I also enjoy listening to Muse, Dave Matthews Band ('You might die trying' is an amazing song, the lyrics are okay, the vocals are great and the guitar mind-blowing), . However, I can't stand that poppy stuff like Arctic Monkeys and scouting for girls
Putting Arctic Monkeys and Scouting for Girls in the same category is insulting! Scouting for Girls are terrible; a band cashing in on the 'indie' phase music was going through a couple of years ago. Arctic Monkeys are the band of our generation.

I apologise from the depth of my apologising heart
So, do you have any recommendations?

    Arctic Monkeys? Pop? Absurd.

You might like Dispatch, Yeah Yeah Yeah's, Arcade Fire, Friendly Fires and The Horrors.

I know, I loved this thread! So, what's changed in 18 months? I've become quite lazy with sourcing new music so the music I listen to hasn't changed much.

No crime. Friendly. Has vegan food on site (only during the festival).
It's really funny, lots of dancing, no-one caring if you look stupid or not.
Lots of nice indie pop and twee.

    And it's cheap!

    There's also almost no litter.

I do enjoy the atmosphere of the smaller, friendly festivals, how about drink prices?

For a festival they're fine. Like £2-3 a pint if I remember correctly. But some of the pints aren't your industry standards. You can get things like organic raspberry cider (I think) etc.

Sounds good, a lot of venues are charging up to £4.50 a pint now, ridiculous!

wow...whoever classed scouting for girls as similar to the arctics needs to send a personal apology letter to alex turner! play 'she's so lovely' and a track like when the sun goes down next to one another and i see no points of comparison other than the fact that one is drivel and one is a work of art!

Why's indie music so popular with t.v.?
I can't watch anything without hearing two door cinema club, metronomy, m83, mumford and sons etc.
