Re: The Indie/Alternative SocietyBritain's general indie scene is basically very poppy and very polished. The bands that are raised onto pedestals by the NME are generally over-hyped and are far too eager for fame and fortune. I personally think that British indie used to be better than its North American equivalent in the 80s and 90s but now Americans and Canadians are a lot more willing to be innovative and genuinely capture the 'indie' ethos that this type of music is supposed to have.(Original post by Un Libertine)
