I'm thinking about either applying for i sciences at leicester or physics- does anyone know how much time students spend in labs and doing experiments on the leicester i science course?

    Re: i-science
Hi, I am currently an IScientist at Leicester and I thought that I would add some information about the Interdisciplinary Science (IScience) course at Leicester. (I realise that this was some time ago but I thought some details might be useful to someone!)

Typically, labs on IScience are for 4 hours on a Wednesday. Occasionally it is more, (for example we did a couple days straight of labs up at the hospital for our forensic science module last year) and sometimes there will be a week that doesn't have a lab (often due to timetabling). The labs are a mix of Physics, Chemistry, Biology and Geology labs. The 4 hours are taken up with actually physically doing the lab and at the end we had in lab notes but then outside of labs we work on lab proformas. These most commonly consist of questions that prompt discussions on results and check that you understand the background information. We also have to write up a couple of formal lab reports a year on one of the labs which is assigned at random.
