    How much do people drink?
I was just wondering how much people at Durham drink a week on average.

I'd say at the moment I drink about 3 or 4 pints and 3 or 4 glasses of wine a week, in total.

Not a big casual drinker, if I go to the bar I may have an alcoholic drink, but more likely to get a soft drink. If I'm going out, I'll easily drink a lot of vodka

    lots.
BTW I'm drunk at the moment, due to £ a pint night locally. This is bad since I have work at 8:30AM.
I'd probably drink a bottle of wine at formal on tues/thurs, then a few pints after so I'm good for clubbing, plus anything else, like if I go out any other days. I probably drink twice my recommended allowance, although I know people who drink nothing and never have done for no religious reason, and don't get any stick about it. If you want to drink, fine, if you don't, fine. People might ask you why you drink so much/little, but other than that, I really don't think you'll have any comment made, outside, perhaps, the first few weeks.
Having said this, it remains to be seen how much I drink next year, since I won't be attending formals regularly, or living very, very close to the college bar.
EDIT: The student drink in Durham is probably wine, due to formals, or vodka, in people's rooms, or beer in the pub. Pretty much the same as anywhere.

I drink, just not excessively; a couple of pints, maybe 3, is enough for me on a night-out.

I must be a bit of an old fogie with my John Smiths and Strongbow.

P.S. I know this is neither big, nor clever, but what the hell, you only live once.

too much generally. If I go to the bar, which is most nights, I will have a drink - going out nights (i.e. mon, tues, thurs, fri and some sats) I'll have a fair old bit - particualrly tues and thurs (formal) where it'll be a bottle of wine and a few smens

BTW - If you're planning on going to Klute at all - you'll need more - you have to be drunk, or a wee bit mental to go sober

well im sam as dobbs really i rarely drink socially unless its one glass of wine or something - in a pub id more likely get coke than beer because frankly beer is ming ding. If im going out however i probably get through about 10 units of vodka withouttoo much trouble.

My record for a night is 2 bottles of wine, a few pints and some shots. Christ, the next morning hurt. On average, I'd say I have 2-3 pints a day, more on fridays/formals/events though. It's all up to you though.

    Hey, I lasted 12 posts.

Anyway, getting totalled, and waking up feeling awful, with no money, covered in dirt and with several randm injuries is one of lifes little pleasures!

Random injuries, lol. I may drink heavily if I make no friends and become a recluse! But I generally only drink malibu when I have a hankering for the taste... I will drink as and when I want to, really..

You should have gotten the horse drunk, too, before trying to take advantage of her

That was the excellent night that I managed to steal a pair of trousers from the room of a girl on the landing below me, and wake up with NO memory of said actions!

If you were there anyway, why not steal some pants? Really, though, you may start thinking of budgeting if you have to steal clothing
