    Warwick or Trinity College Dublin--Help!!!
So I've been accepted unconditionally to Warwick management. Additionally, I have applied to Trinity College Dublin for Business, Economics and Social Studies and I'll most likely be accepted there.

Unfortunately, these were not my first choice for uni, so I was wondering if anyone could help me out in terms of comparing and contrasting the unis as a whole and also in their respective departments. Basically, this would be in terms of reputation, breadth of education, preparation for a world class MBA program (something like harvard / london business school), degree strucutre, and employability. Would like as much info as possible so please respond. Also, if there are people who have gone to either uni who could tell me about student life, that would be great too.

erm don't know TCD per say but know Dublin and it's ******* expensive, like makes london look reasonable and you can't get a loan if you're from the UK, sooo deffo look into whether you can afford it or not.

Yep Dublin is expensive but there's always ways of avoiding it- buy food in Lidl/Aldi/Tesco and Dunnes own brand. Nights out- there are a LOT of places who do €3 drinks or deals on certain drinks. None of this 'I got charged €8 for a pint in Templebar'- ie. the place geared for ripping off tourists. Clothes are generally a rip-off because we get stung on sterling-euro exchange rate. Accommodation, TRinity Halls is €6k a year and isn't in Trinity- since you need public transport from there you're better off renting in somewhere with decent transport links to the city anyway, would be much cheaper. Also if you get a job (very manageable with BESS) you'd get paid €8.65 an hour at least, minimum wage. Balances out the higher cost of living.

Trinity is a small campus, very compact since it can't expand. Location couldn't be better- some of the city is essentially built around it- it's smack in the middle. Lots of gorgeous old buildings, great atmosphere. BESS is by far the biggest course in Trinity. Most of your 1st year lectures will be huge. However you'll obviously have tutorials and stuff. I think it's about 16-18 hours a week on average, depends what options you pick. It's an extremely well regarded degree, you have the option of graduating in just economics or keeping it more generalised than that. I think there's 2 people on here who have done/doing this degree. If you go to boards.ie- EDU- Trinity and search 'BESS' you'll find loads of info.

Trinity was Protestant until roughly the 1970's. It therefore still carries a West Brit knob reputation. It's 40 somethingth in the world now, getting better every year. There are a few societies full of knobs, and the arts block has a strong contingent of orange abercrombie type people but most people are grand, there are LOADS of societies and good sporting facilities on campus (brand new gym too). There are 3 arts libraries connected to each other. Trinity is a copyright library which means it has the right to every book printed in the UK and Ireland. It has millions of books, most of which are stored on camous (and delivered if requested). It also has a really good collection of journals etc. Nightlife tends to centre on the same few 'scene' clubs, which is annoying. There's a BESS ball and then Trinity Ball- 7000 people, on campus, tents everywhere- Dizzee Rascal headlined this year. Because Trinity is so central there's clubs and pubs everywhere. And the Pav, on campus, which does deals on Bavaria.

I'm fairly sure that, academically, Warwick wins - so based on what you have said is important to you, I would say go there.

I know very little about Trinity though.

Well actually, in the last THES rankings- Trinity is 43rd and Warwick is 58th. Now obviously rankings don't mean everything but they are done very precidely on a number of factors. I doubt Warwick is millions in debt though..

World rankings are awful, even worse than the UK rankings. The factors are silly, so it's not a great saving gracethat they are done precisely lol.

But ok =], it doesn't really matter either way
