Re: Your input in to future developments wantedYep, this has been suggested before and I think may have made its way onto the dev list.(Original post by arvin_infinity)
I suggest a "Answered" button specifically for the poster! not many people can be bothered to click on "edit" and the change the status to Answered!
To clarify for those who don't follow the context - this is for the subject-specific forums in Study Help. -
Re: Your input in to future developments wantedAgreed that it's annoying, though it's something that can be changed via the app's settings. It's at least going to be changed to smaller text in a forthcoming release.(Original post by Waterstorm)
Please get rid of the "this was posted from the tsr app" thing in every post. It's just so inefficient in terms if wasting time by reading every post and reading that phrase which you don't want to read.

Re: Your input in to future developments wantedThere would need to be a reasonable level of discussion that would go in the subforum. I've just done a bit of searching and can't find a many threads on it. Do you have any links to threads you think would belong in such a subforum?(Original post by adaris)
Have you considered creating a subforum for the UoL external programmes? All relevant discussion is currently held at the Open University section.

Re: Your input in to future developments wantedWell to me it was more like "TSR is the leading forum on UK higher education, there's an awful lot of students studying at the UoL External, so give them a home and they will sure hop on"(Original post by Potally_Tissed)

Googling "site:thestudentroom.co.uk student room uol external" gives me 1340 results, so I guess some elementary interest has already been here, spread across irrelevant subfora. I chose a thread at the Open University section to ask my question and I doubt I'll ever get an answer. But I understand that you want to keep things tidy, so if you see more people like me gazing uneasily at your windows then you could consider this addition.

Re: Your input in to future developments wanted
Not sure if this sounds overly paranoid (or if this is possible), but I'd really like it if the "view all posts by this user" function was optional. I don't know why but I find the idea of people being able to look through everything I've ever said on here a bit strange.

Re: Your input in to future developments wantedI can't see this happening, I'm afraid - it somewhat goes against the nature of a public forum such as TSR.(Original post by Florence321)

Re: Your input in to future developments wantedI don't know if it counts but one thing which always gets me is how deleted threads clog up the watched threads bit.

Re: Your input in to future developments wanted
Just a suggestion, not that it will be too beneficial for general users, but why not introduce thread tagging into this section of the forum. That way, admins / TSR staff can easily pick out threads that need their attention, saving them a lot of time as most queries can be simply answered by other users / moderators.

Re: Your input in to future developments wantedWhat sort of labels do you see as being appropriate?(Original post by Vulpes)

Re: Your input in to future developments wantedSimilar to the AAM section:(Original post by Illusionary)
What sort of labels do you see as being appropriate?
- Resolved
- Needs Admin Attention
- Unresolved
And also, sometimes:
- Urgent, Admin Attention
For things like pages that keep crashing, certain ads linking to incorrect things, etc.
Oh, just thought of something too, if there was also an additional tag like "user suggestion for future development" (something shorter obviously), admins can just filter through the threads to get an entire list of them, instead of manually adding them to an excel spreadsheet. -
Re: Your input in to future developments wantedOkay... that's potentially quite a significant task for the mod team to keep on top of, but could potentially work well.(Original post by Vulpes)

Re: Your input in to future developments wantedWell, seeing as this section is going to be merged into TSR Community, might as well suggest some new features.(Original post by Illusionary)
