Re: [Wiki Guide] The Apple Student Discount
I am sorry I have to bother you people again, but I encountered another problem. I would have asked Apple but they don't have any kind of e-mail address on their webpage

I have configured and selected my MacBook via the URL given (Dundee University URL) and would now like to order it. Unfortunately Apple states in its shipping and delivery FAQ that if I want an Apple product to be delivered to another European country (not the UK) I have to visit the given country's Apple online store and order it there - but that way I wouldn't get my discount!
Anyone knows how to do that?
Update: I've called Apple and there is no possibility to purchase something with the 'Apple on campus' discount and have it delivered to another country

Re: [Wiki Guide] The Apple Student Discount
Hi!
I have a conditional offer from university an get my results next week(Thursday). My parents want to take me to the apple store to buy me a MacBook on the Friday. (if I get into uni). However will this be possible as what do I have to present to prove I will be going to university. I have read somewhere that I need my UCAS as12 letter but this I hear may take a few days to come.
This year UCAS is also sending out emails confirming uni acceptances. Will this be sufficient enough? What about print screening UCAS etc. or do I have to have that as12 letter.
I have tried to ring my apple store up last night and waited for 39 mins and tonight and waited for 20 mins and noone answered so I can't get an actual answer from an apple representative. So what do you guys think? -
Re: [Wiki Guide] The Apple Student DiscountI believe you need the actually letter they send to you after confirming you met their results, which will come after results day.(Original post by alipally94)

Try their website for details, because as far as I know you can buy it through their website if your on campus. -
Re: [Wiki Guide] The Apple Student Discount1. Even a conditional offer is totally sufficient to qualify for the student discount.(Original post by alipally94)

2. You shouldn't go to the Apple store with your parents but purchase your MacBook from the Apple online store to get the 'Apple on Campus' discount. The MacBook will be even cheaper compared to the normal student discount (a 15% reduction from the normal price) and you'll get a three years extended warranty for free - considering Apple's customer service that basically means that you don't have to worry about anything for three years, if there's a problem Apple will fix it, sometimes even if it's been your fault
I'm not sure but you may even get an 80 pound coupon for apps (basically software worth 80 pounds for free).
Officially you can only get this discount if connected to your future university's network but the internet offers link lists to achieve the same - just insert your university's link into your browser's address bar and you automatically access the specific Apple online store for your university. You can then purchase your MacBook and get the benefice I listed. Just Google it.
Edit: By the way, how about calling Apple during the day and not at night?
You can also call the Apple online store - I did once and the staff has been quite nice and helpful.

Re: [Wiki Guide] The Apple Student Discount
i want to buy the retina macbook, but i don't wanna pay £1500 upfront. instead i plan to pay £1000 and pay the other £500 off via apple financing. i have never paid through financing before so i am not too sure how it works, but would i be able to do that?

Re: [Wiki Guide] The Apple Student Discount
I'm a little confused as people on TSR forums have been saying that ordering a MBP online as a student not only gets you the student discount, but also allows you to get Applecare for free. Having gone on the Apple website through a university network, it seems that you only get 3 years warrantee for free, but Applecare is offered at a discounted rate of £48 so which one is correct (and what is the difference between Applecare and a regular 3 year warrantee)?
-
Re: [Wiki Guide] The Apple Student Discounti get the impression that the only difference is that you don't get phone support for the full three years without applecare, but i may need correcting on that.(Original post by confused dot com)

Just to let you guys know, this document seems a much better guide to the one in this thread: http://forums.macrumors.com/showthre...2#post11991982

Re: [Wiki Guide] The Apple Student DiscountYou get a base version of AppleCare. You have 1 year phone support, but 3 years warranty on the machine. If you upgrade to the full AppleCare then you get an additional 2 years of phone support.(Original post by confused dot com)

Re: [Wiki Guide] The Apple Student Discount
Guys can someone tell me how the student discount works if I go in store? I am planning to buy an Ipad a few days before I go to Uni so I wont have a student card to show them or anything but I have all my letters and stuff that confirm I am going to Uni. Is that sufficient to get the discount if I go to my local Apple store and show them the stuff?

Re: [Wiki Guide] The Apple Student Discount
Hi people! I'm off to university this October and plan on buying a 15inch macbook pro before going. The problem I have is that I only have my UCAS HS12 letter as proof that I have been accepted. If I was to ring up could I tell them my ucas number and they could then check? Would that be ok?
Thanks

Re: [Wiki Guide] The Apple Student Discountdo you get the student discount if you use the financing option?(Original post by Gofre)
So it is XD
I was just going off personal experience, when I attempted to buy mine online I had to access it through a university network to receive the discount, so I assumed you would have to be at uni to buy one elsewhere too [= -
Re: [GUIDE] The Apple Student Discountacc, the apple care is 78% off for higher education(Original post by RickRoll)
How do I get the free extended warranty? I haven't found anything on Apple's site. I have already decided to buy Applecare but free sounds a lot better.

Re: [Wiki Guide] The Apple Student Discount
Hi everyone, I've just applied for uni for sept 2013 and have my offers. Ive already chosen to get a new version 15" MBP. Is there anyway that I can get a discount, and if so, how do I claim it and what's included in the 'package'? Any help would be great!

Re: [Wiki Guide] The Apple Student Discount(Original post by lascelles)
Does anyone know if a conditional offer is enough to get the full student discount?
Unfortunately not, you need to be a registered student to get the discount.(Original post by cee-lo)

Yet I wouldn't get the Apple care that cheap ...
