the main features of the Uk democratic system are:
free and fair elections,
free and fair press,
tolerance of others beliefs as long as they don't attempt to undermine the security of the government,
Accountable to the people
Rights of citizens are protected through HRA and EU
Legitimacy of elections accepted so a fair trasnfer of power
Free Information
Government is limited

Demcratic elections (free and fair..)
Role of Parliament(Scrutinise/represent other parties..)
Pressure Group(pluralist democracy)
Referendums(eg devolution)
