Re: What is Britain's best/most celebrated architectural building/landmark?The new Scottish Parliament in Edinburgh. It's hated because of the lack of support for it's existence in general, and the massive cost to the taxpayer (original budget £40m, actual cost £414.4m).(Original post by ichtee)
ah, whats this???!
its cute!
It's an interesting building though, worth a visit if you're ever in Edinburgh

None of those are half as cool as Norway's Stav Churches. And there are many of them, from the 12th-14th centuries.

Re: What is Britain's best/most celebrated architectural building/landmark?
Honourable mentions to Hadrian's Wall (Tyne and Wear, Northumberland, Cumbria), York Minster and Liverpool Cathedral. Best street, rather than just building, would be Grey Street ,Newcastle.
But for England and Wales: -
Cragside, Northumberland
Spoiler:Show
Not the best building. You really need to understand its history, eccentrities and surroundings (with its extensive garden) to get a full sense of its splendour) [/spoiler]
Durham Cathedral
Spoiler:Show
Lincoln Cathedral
Spoiler:Show
The Circus, Bath
Can't be bothered getting a picture.
Castell Coch (just outside Cardiff)
Spoiler:Show
It's like a fairy tale!
