I got told the pass mark for an A will be dropped for this years paper. Apparently 70% for an A although that might be garbage. What is it for a B anyway, the supplementary prelim we did was 62% for a B and 73% for an A. Not exactly sure how they agree on the percentages.

There'll probably be a meeting within your school so that the percentage getting A/B/C etc are about the same as the sqa exam board. Search grade boundaries on the sqa website to find what is required for a B.
