Ooh, a boy from my year is doing that course at Cardiff!

Whats his name?! I only know one person on here thats doing my course but he hasnt been on in a while
its actually quite a difficult course cos we have to analyse films etc here are examples of modules ive taken:

introduction to hollywood cinema (2 essays one 500 words one 1000 words)

stardom, europe and hollywood (2 essays one 1000words one 1500 words)

researching television audiences (same as above)

introduction the moving image (same as above)

television cultures: popular culture (2 essays one 1500 words one 2500 words)

it involves learning a lot of body language and social cues and things like that and you do have to enjoy re watching films and programmes over and over again. In most lectures we are shown a clip from a film or tv programme and we have to say why is the scene significant what does the scene show how do the characters interact and usually we have to discuss in groups about the clips and then report back.

so there! dont call it a mickey mouse course people!! :talkhand:
^ sounds interesting what type of career you want to go into once you have finished?

im going to do business/management at surrey/loughborough/exeter.. etc not sure yet..

I'm sorry but if anything you've just reinfoced my opinion that it is a ''mickey mouse course''!

we have to say why is the scene significant what does the scene show how do the characters interact and usually we have to discuss in groups about the clips and then report back.

This sounds like the sort of thing you would do over a coffee with friends, not as a degree at at a higher education institution.

But each to their own. If you enjoy it then

Not too sure, I don't choose until 3rd year and then complete the degree in 4th year.
Either Computer Science, Management or Economics, whichever I prefer after the first couple of years
