Stopping people criticising university on social network sites

A friend of mine has told me that he recieved an email for Leeds Uni telling students not to criticise them on social networking sites.

Do anyother Unis do this, and what do you guys make of this?

Leeds uni looks quite good :smile: Don't know why you'd want to criticise it.
I think it's pretty wrong when students criticise and name specific lecturers on facebook. If you have a complaint with a lecturer then it should be addressed formally.

99% of said facebook complaints consist of "baww, I didn't revise or pay attention in my lectures and I got a **** grade, therefore Dr. xxx is a **** face and a **** lecturer."

Launching insults at uni staff over Facebook is borderline slander TBH. Insulting the institution as a whole is a different matter, everyone has criticisms. Though usually the student newspapers are enough to cover that.
