From what ive heard and seen im not the only one who has a problem with her.

And I'm another one (probably experienced worse than most others you've heard about).

The alternative is a formal complaint (which I spoke about at length this time two years ago, those not sure if those threads are still around but, either way, shouldn't have that stuff online), which in my case worked though not sure it's applicable in yours. I'll PM you anyway.

Ah, if you did a formal complaint then I doubt it would work with me, I didnt disclose information because I felt I couldnt rather then it being acted upon poorly.
Dont feel you have to disclose personal information/PM me, if you dont want to thats fine!

PM's fine just not on this site. I've sent the PM. Apologies if it's a little long but there was substantial back story to it.
My life is like one looooong episode of hollyoaks. Again. Fun summer :nothing:

(oh except for the whole major serial killer thing that's going on at the moment in hollyoaks.)

#bored
The universe itself hates me. Depressed from stuff and resingling - buy packet of fruit pastilles to cheer up! - all but one of them was orange flavour, the exception being ****ing lime.

Well, just a couple of weeks before we'll start being too busy to worry about ourselves? I am not looking forward to how time-intensive labs will be...

Isn't it just? I prefer Beyonce's head on there but it made me smirk and I'm obsessed with HP :s-smilie:

I'll be sure to tell you about how fun they are... :s-smilie:

*prays to the science gods for a decent experiment and lab partner*
Has anyone got any suggetions for Durham wiki content, or additional content for stickies?

I'm going to try and redevelop/update the stickies.

I was thinking this: -

Applicants sticky
Which college sticky - which will have an opening post explaining the difference in the collegiate system compared to other unis (or this can be left in the FAQ/Guide)
Ask Current Student
FAQ/Guide - where things like student safety will be merged into

I'm probably not knowledgeable enough to provide any exhaustive overview of all the colleges and their features so if anyone can help out it would be greatly appreciated.

I think we need a Which College sticky because the number of threads asking advice on that is just ridiculous - I hadn't really realised before the last year or so.
In terms of the wiki, I think each college could do with it's own page - only about 3 do at the moment, and Trevs' one sounds like a guidebook (although it does mention and apologise for that at the bottom). I think I'll stick that on my to-do list to help out with.

Also I'm not really convinced at the moment of the need for the Current Durham Students subforum - there seems to only about 1 thread a month, and the only busy one is this. If College threads were merged into a sticky, I think it would be hard to argue the need.
Although I am aware that there used to be a stronger Durham TSR community, and I think things used to be different. Not that I'm really part of any community myself...

Okies. A lot of the information is missing or out of date so I appreciate any effort. I wasn't able to really devote the time during my first period as a mod (also for the first few months of my initial modship Becca was also a mod and did a good job and as it was two to three years ago some of the information wasn't out of date then).

There certainly has been an increase in the "which college" threads, Not as many general queries about the collegiate system (and if teaching takes places in colleges and how admission works) but I'd still like to combine all of that.

I'm also supposed to be working on some Newcastle content (just the city) and a great deal of info for the Disabled Students subforum (I was remodded to effectively be a much-needed specialist mod for the disabled students subforum, whilst also sweeping GUD occasionally, but it was decided all uni mods should have their powers extended across all university subforums so I'm back with Durham powers :p: ).

So with this, my dissertation, volunteering, travelling, societies and running a small business I'm pushed for time :p:

That doesn't have anything to do with me at the moment :p: Well, as a university mod I'm entited to have my say whenever we review the forums, but I'm not able to remove the Durham subforum and the ultimate decision is admins. I do agree though.

:console:

Only just heard :frown: Terribly upset, was still hoping to see them live one last time, but not terribly surprised.

At least they split on a high, months after relesasing their strongest material in years.
Update: just got an email from the Chem department saying all lectures now start on the hour rather than quarter past in the afternoon :frown:

That sucks! This means that on Mondays I have lectures 9-1 and labs 1-4, when am i meant to have my lunch?! :frown:

That's a horrible Monday :hugs: I guess you'll have to eat in a lecture or something :frown: But it was much better at quarter past so people would at least have 15 mins to eat :frown:
I suppose the only positive to this is that lectures will be finished 15 mins earlier when you have a 6.00pm finish rather than 6.15pm.

Nyah, that's not good. :frown: My timetable is likely to contain similar unpleasantries...

Original post by charlotte_joy
Yeah i guess so  But looking at it positively, at least i get the horrible day and a sprint up cardiac hill out the way at the beginning of the week haha

Eurgh, in first year, every Monday I had to be "up Cardiac Hill ten minutes ago" because my tutorials always finished late.

I had a lecture from 12 - 2 last year, and I live about a 30-40 min walk away from the department. So lunch at 11 am? Lunch at 3 pm? --> Lunch in front of my lecturer. I guess everyone else in my class solved it by not getting up till noon or something?
According to the chem department having lectures 1-3 means no lunch and so they're rescheduling one of the lectures to different weeks. Since when was it not possible to have lunch before 1?? Andy Hughes, you boggle me. You're awesome, but you boggle me.

Horrible timetables; some mondays last year I had lectures 9-2.15 then 3 hours of labs. Then Brownies. Then tutor hour in college. And then 6 hours of lectures/tutorials the next day. I'm not sure I ever had the full lot in a week though...

I don't know if this has been continued by PM, but if you have a reason for not having disclosed information at the time, then they may be able to take it into account retrospectively. One of the appeals is that there is info that wasn't known at the time. Talk to your dept as well as college.

On that note, I don't think I've said yet, but I have a concession to redo my dissertation. :woo:
