Hi,
just wondering does anyone have a good example of when Pressure groups operate behind the scenes and public don't see their influence?

Also, when talking about protests would it be good to use local ones? one happened near me a few days ago, would that be good to use?

Also, didnt the BA strike recently, would that be good to use?

The BA strike would be good to use, I'm not sure about the one that happened near you, because if it wasnt recorded in like mainstream news the examiner might not know about it, and may feel you are making it up
Although it could be used as an example of the types of protests that can take place

Off the top of my head:

UNITE (BA protests) winning their appeal
Unite against fascism anti-bnp protests

And some classics:

Howard League, a tiny pressure group with insider status and considerable influence
Tax payers alliance, secular group
Greenpeace, has used lots of tactics e.g. Brent Spa incident.

As for local examples, be wary. The examiner may suspect you're inventing examples. But, if they're relevant, then sure.
