emmaaa..
i thought as a whole it was ok. the parts of the lungs one was nice, as plant one (movement up the xylem etc etc), and the heart one. wasnt a fan of the methyl blue one. i also went on about the 'leaky' membrane :s-smilie:

movement up the xylem was really nice, will be surprised if i didn't get 5/5 for that one, they need more simple questions like that tbh :colondollar:

also the haemoglobin one was nice too i think. so as a whole it was pretty ok imo.

Im worried too, i think tidal volume graph will come up, mitosis, specialisation, circulation, maybe even SAN AND AVN. and im sure thell put in some experiment so probably the staining cells to view mitosis.

lol most of those did come up, wish i saw this yesturday

that was so hard!!
what did people put for the heart rate question? i got 75 beats per min but have no idea if that's right...

i did something like: the number of beats in one second (about 1.25) and then to get it in minutes i timesed it by 60
what did you do?

I got 59 =/ How did you work it out?

I did the number of secs in a minute : 60
and the time taken for the the heart to initate all its activity : 0.8
and divided it 60/0.8 = 75 beats per minute
that paper wasnt TOO bad- the yeast membrane questions were very niggly and the question asking to use the table as some sorta evidence as to why the methylne blue cant stay in the cell? i think those two pages were the niggliest- but overall i reckon was a good enough exam

Thank god I got 75 beats per min too
Reply 50
i got it as 120 beats per minute cos it took 0.5 seconds for a whole ecg scan to go through so 60/0.5=120...
Reply 51
it took 0.8s to go from one P wave to another...so the heart beat took 0.8s

60/0.8s= 75

I'm not sure

i thought that question was hard, i kinda broke it down into sections, i reckon its about plasmolysis, and how the membrane is damaged and the substances (methylene blue) leaks out of the membrane.

i kind of wrote what you did amirez.. but you should've mentioned how the cell bursts.
I thought that paper was sickk. And not in a good way.
I revised all the hard stuff like Cardiac Cycle and I got Staining, which probably occupies 0.1255 of my textbook!
I'm pissed cause I'd been getting A's in the past papers, and now I'd be lucky to get a C!

Exactly the same as you! Such a random paper!
