Getting unusual distribution of A-levels

what would a university do, if, for example, they gave you an AAB offer, but you got A*BB - would they accept it since the A* and the B average at an A, or not?
You haven't met the offer so unless they have spare places the answer is no.

If come results day their quota hasn't been filled with people who met their offers, you would stand quite a good chance of still getting in. It's a numbers game though- my friend got ABC instead of BBB and missed her firm as they had already filled their places with those who has met the offer specified in their UCAS (remember the uni is legally obliged to offer to those who meet thier offer exactly).
for sussex i need either AAB or A*BB, depends on the uni and how much they like you
