a-levels

Basically in my first year i got DUU (philsophy and ethics, chemistry and biology)
so i decided to move school and restart a whole year. I went 2 a few taster courses and i have found interest in medical materials so ive decided to dis in university,

bt what are my chances of gettin into uni
at my new school i do chemistry biology and ICT
also should i retake the philsophy and ethics and try and boost up that grade?

I say this because apparently its become incredibly more difficult to get into university?

Pleas contanct me:smile:

You dont really have much of a chance
Medical courses generally want you to do it in 2 years and not over 3

I agree. I know someone who applied for med with 4 A*s who did it in two years and didn't get in anywhere...

Generally resits are not acceptable if you need 3 years to complete the A-level course. Also some medical schools include a fourth AS in their offer. Without extenuating circumstances, resits will not look good. What are your GCSE's? You will have to perform reasonably well in those as well.

Offers are at least AAB, with many applicants achieving higher than that. Do you think you would achieve this?

its not a medicine degree
its called medical materials or medical engineering
here an example at queen mary uni http://www.qmul.ac.uk/courses/courses.php?dept_id=15&ugcourses=1&article_id=35&course_id=639&course_level=2

most unis ask for ABC-BBB

Please don't get offended but do you ever think Medicine is not for you? I mean you didn't even get the pass grades in both AS Chemistry and Biology, how could you cope with university degree?

Maybe try something else?

Considering that course states its desirable to have maths and/or physics, it might not be the best one to choose.

The only thing I would say is you have to check each uni's policy on retakes by contacting them - as I imagine some top uni's would not accept them.
