    Re: My baking blog!
    Thanks!

I've been baking nearly every Monday since January and just decided now to keep some sort of record of what I've done. Wish I'd thought of it at the time but I'm sure those things will be made again. My friends especially love banana bread so I'm always making it when there are ripe bananas!

EDIT: Uh, I guess someone really has something against bananas?

I really like the look of the lemon drizzle cake! It's one of the only cakes my Dad likes so perhaps that'll be next on the agenda

I also love the cookie monster cupcakes! Have you seen the book called "Hello Cupcake", they have lots of designs like that. I think I'm gonna have a lot of baking to do this summer!

The recipes you posted look gorgeous! It's a shame you don't have time to continue... I hate it when real life gets in the way of the internet :p:

I know! I've done a few batches of cupcakes for commission, parties and the like now - would be nice to have been able to blog them. I am writing a recipe book for my girlfriend though, although it's slow going!

Happy to be appreciated The lemon drizzle cake was actually a reblog from a previous failed cooking blog of mine, so haven't made it in *ages*... secret's all in the lashings of lemon-sugar-drizzle; when we ate it, we ate some just cold, and some we heated up and drizzled even more lemon juice and sugar mix. Think I might make some soon, actually; am now in the mood for it!

Not seen that book, but a quick amazon reveals that it looks to have some quite nice ideas. Only thing is that I've never liked fondant, so am somewhat constrained in my cupcake-decorating to royal or buttercream icing.

[Edited to add: You may also want to check out the TSR Baking Recipes Thread... somewhat old, but some nice recipes there, and personally I think it's due a revival!]

From a purely selfish I'm-moving-out-next-year-and-can-only-bake,-not-make-actual-meals point of view, I think you'd be doing the internet a service if you made said recipe book available online. You could even enlist testers to make sure your recipes were easy enough for your girlfriend to follow

    Just a cheeky suggestion :o:

I'm going to make a blog, I think.

I've very much a cupcake/cookie baker, would be nice to show some of my stuff and compare it with other people's recipes. I am DEFINITELY trying that lemon drizzle cake!

...and you'll need to decide from which platform to blog: tumblr, wordpress, blogspot? Personally I like tumblr as it's so easily customisable, but I've heard good things about wordpress if it's a blog you're likely to continue in the longrun.

I just went with blogspot because I already had an account with it. All the apple flan is gone, I take that as a good sign
