I have also lived in Leeds all my life & know where's best to go & where's best to avoid.
For all u r'n'b heads try Halo. A relatively new club between Headingley & leeds. It's a converted church. Saturdays r packed & best avoided unless u enjoy being unable to move. My best tip for a good night there is a Sunday night, when Rnb is played in Halo & dance music is played in Quilted Lama.
Townhouse - I used to love this place. It was the place to be seen & attracted all of Leeds' 'beautiful' people. The music was mint, but i feel its gone downhill majorly since it's renovation. I have avoided it since really, but it could make a comeback & i'm sure it will do.
Creation - this is a massive club in Millenium Square. On busy nights such as Saturday all 3 rooms are open & its offers something to everyone. Room 1 is cheese/chart music as well as classics. Room 2 is Rnb & hip hop & Room 3 (the largest room) is dance. It's a huge club & is easy to get lots in if you don't know it. I really like it & its a guaranteed good night out.
Prohibition - This is a truly fab bar on Greek Street in the city centre. The music is awesome. it's a lot of rnb & some indie tunes mixed in there. The bar staff are so friendly & there's over 180 cocktails to choose from! Yum! I's probably a little expensive for students, but i always start a night out in Leeds there.
Arc - this is a bar/restaurant in Headingley. It's a cool place & really good to spend lazt summer evenings sat up on the balcony. The music is Ok as are the drinks. There are student offers etc
Box - another bar in Headingley. It can get very busy, but is a good place. lots of leather sofas & cubes to chill out on. Buca's are a must here.
If anyone wants anymore info let me know. This can include shopping tips, travel etc. Hope that helped.
