I think when it comes to behaviourist theories and conditioning, we can mention pavlovs dog. It would probably be more appropriate to talk about this if it asks about the background to the study though.

How's everyones revision coming along?
I am SO scared of this exam :frown:
I know Social & Cognitive inside out upside down. The other three (particularly physiological) are going to kill me! :frown:

I always get pilivan and piaget mixed up too!

In answer to your question, not very well! I haven't gone over the studies yet, but absolutely ******** myself for section C. A way to remember Piliavin, Rodin and Piliavin is .... LONG NAME, LONG TRAIN.

I found a way to remember physiological:
P - provides bio explanation
H - Hormones
Y -
S - Situational
I - Information is quantitative
O - Observable
L - Low in ecological validity
O - Objective and scientific
G - Genes
I - It can be reductionist
C - Can enhance differences
A - Diagnostic Tool
L - Lab experiment

D - Data is qualitative
E - Ethical issues
V - Variables are confounding
E -
L - Lower social deisrability
O - Observable
P - Prone to demand characteristics
M - Mainly children
E - Ecologically valid
N - Not easy to elicit
T - The observations are subjective
A - A diagnostic tool
L - Life cycle changes

I - Information is qualitative
N - Natural/ Realistic
D - Data is subjective
I - It can encourage prejudice
V - Valid, ecologically
I -
D - Dispositional
U - Uniqueness of inidividuals
A - Aid an individual
L - Less generalisable

Hope this helps!

There is so much to remember!

So ridiculous, exams aren't testing knowledge, they're testing memory.

They test both.

Is this answer o.k :/

Q) describe one similarity between any developmental approach study

A) Both Bandura and Samuel/bryant used a laboratory experiment to conduct their investigation. This makes their investigation high in control but low in ecological validity as imitating aggression by watching a bobo doll getting punched (badura) or conserving water by using different sized cylinders is not relevant to real life.

How many marks out of 3?? and improvements??

lol am jus looking at the similarity and differences of the developmental approach too
I think that would get you 2 marks, i think to get three marks you have to say what lab exp is

the similarity ive used is that they are both snapshot studies (:

so would i have to say that a lab experiment is used to gain a cause and effect relationship.

and yeah i'm confident with section a and c now.

just have to smooth over section b (all depends on what studies come up - i hate the sperry study lol

yeah, you could say that they are the most controlled form of exp's.

I hate section B too, the 8 markers are a PAIN!!
My favourite is section C!
But still han't learn the tedious info for section A. Any advice to make it easier..

Lol, i worked on Sperry ydy for 4 hours still haven't worked out what its about....
