AQA English Language Paper 1

Hi guys, tomorrow like a lot of people are sitting the AQA English Language Paper 1. Theres no choice in the comprehension, however could everyone round up some tips for both sections?

I don't really understand what points I should explain, and the questions I'm really unfamiliar with, such as "how writers use language to engage the reader", would I just find something like a rhetorical question, and how that sort of interacts with the reader, is that what I'm looking at?

Also with the persuasive writing, has anyone got any tips so I can pass the exam? Thanks! :-).

With the persuasive writing section our teacher has taught us to narrow it down to 5 paragraphs.

The first one looking at the whole scene it general: where it is, what seems to be happening, the weather etc

and then on the next 4 paragraphs go more specific, by targeting particular people in the scene and describe them in as much detail as possible like facial expressions, the way they act or speak etc.

Hope this helps,
Good luck in the exam!

and yeah look for rhetorical questions, emotive language, reasoned appeal stuff like that... just make sure you quote from the text and explain it...and include personal opinions  Good luck
