I doubt it, unless they've been congealed by something. What have you eaten today? And why did you vomit?

What popped into my head right away is congealed blood.

Do you have an ulcer or something?
Do you eat often?
Do you have stomach aches / pain often?

I doubt it very much.

Was it definitely black and not blood?

Blood can appear to be black, especially in vomit.

I guess I didn't word that too well. I've seen blood that appeared black before but upon closer inspection, it was just very dark red and not actually black.

I was basically asking if the OP thought it was blood...or some kind of black food?? I can't think of anything that'd look like that in vomit.
I had black-looking blood in my vomit on friday evening.

It would be wise to get it checked out ASAP, particularly if the vomiting was not caused by alcohol.
It's the Dark Side within.
It could be the pepsi, anyone who has vomited after a few whisky and cokes will confirm the presence of black. Ultimately it could be blobs of syrup which hasn't been broken down yet. Though the time frame between drinking and reappearance is important, several hours and it probably isn't the pepsi.

Blood is extremely plausible, ulcer most likely cause if that is so.
