Re: TSR UKIP Question TimeWe all have different beliefs so mine are different to someone else's in the party. My personal view is that gun controls currently work well in the UK and indeed we shouldn't be complacent, but I'm for strong gun control. With regards to drugs, I'm anti-drugs. I believe that drugs are a scourge of society. They ruin lives and shouldn't be encouraged. I see the arguments for legalisation and they are compelling, but drugs cost society huge amounts of money, wreck the lives of the individuals taking them and their family and friends and are something that we shouldn't encourage. My colleagues may have different opinions though.(Original post by TimHuak)

Re: TSR UKIP Question TimeMost Lib Dems tend to be supportive of Europe in RL and on here, so you'd probably find yourself happier joining UKIP if you're not pro-EU.(Original post by lambert1)
Which party do you recommend a Euro sceptic should join Lib Dems or UKIP? -
Re: TSR UKIP Question TimeIt depends how much of a eurosceptic you are. If you're a 'let's get some powers back, but stay in', you might be happier in the Conservatives. If you're 'I'm not a European citizen get me out the EU' eurosceptic, then you'd be happy in UKIP.(Original post by lambert1)

Re: TSR UKIP Question TimeAlcohol is possibly more dangerous than cannabis to your body but is not banned, are you for banning alcohol and tobacco too? as they could also be described as a scourge of our society(Original post by toronto353)

Re: TSR UKIP Question TimeI'd say that we need to strike a balance between allowing people to reap the benefits of their hard work while also contributing fairly to society. I'd say 40p seemed to work well and that the 50p rate wasn't as successful as first appeared. It's a balance that we need to try to stabilise, but as for an exact figure, well I'm not an economist so I can't give you one - sorry.(Original post by meenu89)
What would be your tax rate for someone who earns £150,000 a year?
Alcohol in moderation though doesn't have the same effects on passers by. For example, I can see someone having the odd drink and that has no effect on my health whereas someone smoking cannabis does affect my health as it can cause headaches etc. With regards to tobacco, it's a tricky one.(Original post by alex5455)

We have individual views so I'll answer and others can also answer. I congratulate students on their results today. Obviously it's a very nerve wracking time and hopefully students can find the right path for themselves with various support networks.(Original post by barnetlad)
What is the UKIP education spokesperson's view on the A level results announced today? -
Re: TSR UKIP Question TimeGood point about alcohol, but tobacco, and the other associated chemicals in a cigarette, are very harmful to other people passing in the street as well as being extremely addictive, possibly more so than cannabis, i dont know anyone smoking 40 joints a day but i do know people who do that with cigs, so if cannabis should remain banned on public health ground tobacco should be too in an ideal world.(Original post by toronto353)

just a note i dont agree with the legalisation of heroin, crack etc the really damaging ones, on this issue did you watch that program russell brand did on drug rehab? -
Re: TSR UKIP Question TimeYou're completely right and I can't fault your logic.(Original post by alex5455)

What about in coffee shops or in your own home? What about a vaporiser? -
Re: TSR UKIP Question TimeWell, you cant harm anyone because of the fumes if you have somewhere exclusively to smoke, such as your own house or a venue designed specifically for it (not unlike a nightclub which is designed pretty much exclusively to get drunk).(Original post by toronto353)
Explain.
A vaporiser is already used in E cigarettes, they heat the weed to a certain temperature without burning it. Was not definite about **** you breathe out, and checked wikipedia:
Vaporization is an alternative to burning (smoking) that avoids the production of irritating toxic and carcinogenic by-products by heating the material so its active compounds boil off into a vapor. No combustion occurs, so no smoke or taste of smoke is present. Vapor ideally contains virtually zero particulate matter or tar, and significantly lower concentrations of noxious gases such as carbon monoxide.
Further, how far would you go on the banning harmful toxins to breathe in? Would you ban cars? As smoking tobacco has already been mentioned.Last edited by paperclip; 18-08-2012 at 01:26. -
Re: TSR UKIP Question TimeSome members may have a different opinion, but I certainly don't. We shouldn't dictate to people what they wear and I believe that it is wrong to ban the burqa. That said, I am seeing it worn a lot less which is an encouraging sign. Note that while I don't support it being banned, I do not support an article of clothing which is a sign of oppression.(Original post by eff01)
Does TSR UKIP support a ban of the Burqa?
I love the OP. I think you should be reinstated as UKIP leader

I didn't seem Brand's programme, but I may watch it.
