The worst Hayfever.... any way to stop it?

I went to the doctors, didn't think he was really listening to me or taking me seriously...
but he prescribed me a special nose spray, eye drops and some tablets (fexocide hydrocloride or something similar, cannot spell the first part!). I feel better already, so hopefully I will keep improving.
I recommend you use a process of elimination with all the over the counter antihistamines available. Try them one at a time, seperately of course to see how each one affects you. Some may make you drowsy or nervous. See which is best for you. Also visit your GP and try the prescription ones too, I know it sounds like an expensive experiment but it is worth it for your quality of life.

Personally I found Piriton (the yellow box) to be the best for me, it lasts for about eight hours or more and does not make me feel nervous, ironic because it is the last one I tried (!) at the age of 37, years of misery! I suffer from hay fever too. Sudafed works for me too but only last for about four hours. Loratadine was not good for me, it worked but made me feel very nervous.

So anyway find the best one for you, Telfast is a prescription one you can try.

Also consider holidaying in Morocco/Tunisia/Egypt during spring and summer- Sahara=no pollinating plants (yay!).

Also consider one of these-

A negative air ioniser for your room, I got one today seems to do something good cos I did not need a pill today.

I hope this all helps you as I know how frustrating hay fever is.

The NHS website used to say that hay fever is worst during adolescence and gets less bad as you get older that seems to be true for me, hope it is for you too.
