It's a bit of a waste of time. The only time I'd consider doing it is to show the difference between land and water, for example, and even then just a tiny bit of shading on ONE section.

You're not going to impress anyone by spending time on making your diagrams look amazing- they're only there to support an answer.

I have my Geography exam tomorrow, and have been told by my teacher to include diagrams in my answers.
Would it be ok to colour these in, or would they not scan then- and it is a waste of time? All my diagrams don't look right without colour... :/

i have mine tomorrow as well but i'm not planning on colouring in because diagrams get high marks for labeling. You only actually get one or two marks for the actual drawing.

Label more the colour. Colouring in is wasted time and effort.
