A2 Philosophy of Mind

Probably left this a bit late, but I was wondering if anyone knew the exact problem of over-determinism?
My notes say "surely it can't be both!" as in both mental and physical causing my hand to raise, but I don't understand why it's an issue - why can't it be be that knowing the answer + neurons firing causes my hand to raise?
(separate from the mind body problem, I mean)

ahh i shouldn't have opened this. i'm doing philosophy of mind, thought i'd be of some help and but i have no clue what the "problem of over-deteminism" is. you have scared me now :')
