Re: "Game of Thrones" HBO(Original post by cyfer)
Can anyone explain the exchange between Petyr Baelish and the whore from the North in season 2, episode 2? Around the 25 minute mark.
I don't understand what he did to the girl in Lys and how this applies to the whore he is talking to, and why she is crying.
Thanks.Spoiler:ShowShe's crying because the baby of her friend (another whore) gets killed at the end of the last episode, because it's one of Rob's bastards.
I think he was talking about the girl in Lys being a bad investment because she wasn't making him any money. Sort of a threat I guess. She basically needs to stop crying and make him some money. I think it's meant to show his "ruthless" side. -
Re: "Game of Thrones" HBO
What did you guys think of the reed casting ? Personally I feel they're perfect , meera definitely captures that northern rough beauty I envisioned.
I hope they make her out to be as rough and tough as she is in the books , even if they leave out the direwolf playfight for cost reasons ;D -
Re: "Game of Thrones" HBOExactly my thoughts. I think Littlefinger is the one true neutral man in the whole series, he cares for no one, only that he should rise above everyone. Even Varys side with the Targaryens.(Original post by Jaegon Targaryen)
Even as a book reader myself , I was abit confused here . Despite middle finger ahem , little finger being devious backstabbing entity , he is never shown in the books as being malevolent for no valid reason ? Then again we've never had a Little finger POV , I believe he was trying to show Ross that bad things would happen to her if she wasted his time , someone would like to expand upon my point ?
I know that but he said something specific happened to a girl in Lys and I am confused exactly what happened to her, because I don't think this was in the books. I am just wondering because it sounded like it would happen to the whore too.(Original post by Deshi)

Re: "Game of Thrones" HBO
Season 3 / 4 looks like its going to be jam packed with all these new castings :O . So many new characters for newbies to get to know , I doubt some of them will have major roles but the ones I really really want to see the most are meera and jojen .
Brans story arc in the later books has made him among my top 3 favourite characters , and Jojen and Meera hold much importance in the last two books :O -

Re: "Game of Thrones" HBOYou need to spoiler this post like I have in this quote, not everyone has read the books!(Original post by cyfer)
Spoiler:ShowI am interested to see how the film series manages Jaime losing his hand and Arya getting to know Jaqen without the whole Roose Bolton thing. -
Re: "Game of Thrones" HBOIf I recall correctly I think there is a drowning ceremony scene? Albeit a brief one. Besides, the affairs of the Iron Islands become more prominent in AFFC, which won't be until season 5, so maybe we'll see more of it then.(Original post by cyfer)
What the hell....
The film series has butchered the Greyjoys.
Not even the drowning ceremony has remained. Bloody idiotic.
It's physically impossible for the TV show to incorporate every detail from the books, some things have to be changed.
Also use the spoiler tags, as Deshi said, not everyone has read the books. -

Re: "Game of Thrones" HBO
Did anyone else think a dance with dragons was a bit disapointing? i thought being such a huge book loadsss of stuff would happen but it seemed to waffle a bit, i much prefered the other books as they seemed to get to the point more?
Secondly am i the only person who finds the iron islands plot to be soso boring?
Finally i have a bit of a theory, i think i may be wayyy off but here goes; what if lyanna stark and rhaegar had a child? after he raped her and all that, she was found in dorne which is where john snow was apparently born to some noble woman? but if ned was so honourable i don't see him fathering john but maybe that's what he promised lyanna when she was dying? because robert would have killed john if he'd have known. Thoughts?! -
Re: "Game of Thrones" HBOwhile dance of dragons may seem like waffle it is important to remember George made the series with the intention of it being a trilogy. the reason why there are 7+ books is because he couldn't fit all his ideas down in simply 3 books. however the main plot has probably changed very little from when it was a trilogy. therefore what seems like waffle is really just George's attention to detail.(Original post by RosieH7)

Thoughts?!Spoiler:ShowThis theory of lynaa stark and rhaegar has alot of credence if you look at some facts, for example at the tower of joy when lynaa is dying their are kingsguards protecting her most likely at the behest of rhaegar why would they be here if not to protect a future king, when ned stark and howland reed and others arrive to free lyanna they end up killing all the kingsuards but are the only 2 remaining people to still be alive. It is said that lyanna asks ned to promise me something. Ill quote that below.
After this Ned rode to the Tower of Joy in the mountains of Dorne with six companions, and found the three final loyalist members of the Kingsguard - Ser Arthur Dayne, Ser Oswell Whent, and Ser Gerold Hightower - guarding it. They fought, and only Ned and Howland Reed survived. Ned found Lyanna inside the tower, dying.[8][9]
Prior to her death she extracted a promise, its contents as yet not revealed, from Ned.[10] Her final words a phrase that haunts her brother for the rest of his life, they were...[11]

Re: "Game of Thrones" HBONot sure about that, mainly because the silver hair of the targaryens seems to be dominant throughout them. Plus why would Rhaegar forsake tradition/how would he be allowed to forsake tradition and not have children through incest?(Original post by Gooner92)

Another person that posted above was right about waffle. Martin just does not stop going on about Daenerys in that book and she doesn't even do anything.

. Doreah aswell ! I remember her in hollyoaks she was
